5th INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON TAXONOMY OF ATLANTO-MEDITERRANEAN DEEP-SEA & CAVE SPONGES

WELCOME TO
RAPALLO

We are pleased to announce the 5th International Workshop on Taxonomy of Atlanto-Mediterranean Deep-Sea & Cave Sponges to be held in Italy (Rapallo – Genoa) next September. The workshop brings together a panel of world international scientists, experts in the field of Porifera taxonomy, ecology and biology mainly referred to deep-sea and cave sponges from The Mediterranean and Atlantic Seas.

Contributions from other geographical areas are equally welcome.

Each workshop day will be divided into two sessions: the morning session will be dedicated to presentations made by international speakers illustrating their recent researches; the afternoon session will take place in laboratory-equipped rooms and will be dedicated to the sample preparations and/or observation.
Participants will be able to analyze their own samples and it will be possible to make direct observations and compared opinions with Porifera taxonomists from different countries. A dedicated poster session is also planned.

There are no registration fees.

Best Paper Award will be presented to an author to recognize his or her outstanding scientific publication in Conference

A trip to the sea is foreseen, with the possibility of collecting sponge samples.
